      MEET YOUR ASSIGNERS
Welcome to the Chicagoland High School Basketball Assigners webpage.  The new CHSBA will be Chicagoland's largest IHSA and IESA assigning group and will offer a "free Arbiter" service.  This website will provide timely information that will be pertinent to all basketball officials, information on the Arbiter assigning process and other resources that should be of value for all officials.

CHSBA Protocols for Potential Upcoming Season

The recent announcements by the IHSA and IDPH have indicated that the basketball season may be imminent.  If you plan to officiate in this upcoming season, please update your availability on Arbiter for the time frame of January 25 to April 1.

If you plan to opt out from working in this time frame, please do the following: 1) inform all assigners that you work for that you will be opting out and; 2) block yourself for all dates in the January 25 to April 1 time frame.  You may also uncheck the Ready box on your Arbiter Profile page, so that no new games will be assigned to you.

As assigners begin the practice of filling games, please trust the fact that there is a process that our assigners utilize.  Please note that because of the uniqueness of this season, you may be assigned to a level that you do not typically officiate, or you may be assigned to both the prelim and the varsity game.  Your availability should reflect your desire to work.  Also keep in mind that this process will be a group partnership between officials and their assigners.

We ask that all officials take into consideration that different assigners will be issuing games at different times, as some conferences will have their schedules quicker than others.  If you work for multiple assigners, please do not enter a “first come, first served” mode, but be flexible to accept games from all the conferences you work.  This will be greatly appreciated by the assigners.  As always, assignments you receive should be accepted or declined as soon as possible.

Your IHSA license must be current and active in order to accept any future assignment.  Games will not be assigned to officials who are not listed on the IHSA website and it is your responsibility to contact the IHSA with any licensing issues.  Your assigners will not be able to contact the IHSA on your behalf.

Please address these issues as soon as possible so that your assigners can do what needs to be done once schedules start coming in.
